2011 MRHA HealthSpell in Western Maryland
Who: Middle School students attending schools within Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties
What: Spelling Bee using words that are indigenous to the health and medical fields

Why: To instill in our children an interest and awareness of the health and medical fields through a competitive spelling bee offering winners scholarships for college education, as well as a guaranteed placement in a health career exploration program.
The MRHA hosted a similar event in April 2009 and April 2010. For past winners of the Eastern Shore event please visit Past Spelling Bees The MRHA establishes a scholarship fund for HealthSpell winners to be awarded when students are accepted by a college or university, at which time, their scholarship winnings will be transferred directly to the college or university they are attending.
