MRHA was organized in the early 1990's to improve access to health care for rural Marylanders. MRHA is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to promote optimal health status for rural Marylanders through education, information dissemination, networking, collaboration, and advocating for solutions for rural health issues.
The MRHA has a diverse constituency of individual and organizational members, including health care providers, health care consumers, and policymakers interested in advocationg for rural health issues in Maryland.
The MRHA maintains strong relationships with our partners, which includes the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as well as other public and private associations that advocate for improved rural health. MRHA is also a member of the National Rural Health Association.
MRHA's Accomplishments
Each year the MRHA hosts a conference that offers a variety of presentations and workshops on important rural health topics as well as networking opportunities. For more information on the next Summit, please contact us at our e-mail.
The MHRA also presents/conducts public policy forums that address critical rural health issues and recommendations for improvement.
We are also very careful to recognize the accomplishments of members, community partners, health organizations, and legislators through an Annual Award program.
