The Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) is pleased to announce that we have selected University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UMSRH) to receive funding under its fifth round of telehealth grants. UMSRH will demonstrate the impact of using telehealth technology to increase access to health care and improve population health in rural communities of the eastern shore over an 18-month period. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene issued a press release announcing details of the funding, which can be accessed at on the DHMH News Room Home webpage. The MHCC looks forward to working with UMSRH, as well as sharing the lessons learned from these projects. The information gained from these ventures will help other providers to successfully implement telehealth in their practice.
